Author Services
I have been a professional freelance editor for over twenty-five years. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of being associated with several different publishing and editing companies, and I’ve also worked with many independent authors. My favorite part of the process is seeing the light come on in the writer’s eyes as they realize how much their words matter and what a gift they offer the world by sharing their talents.
I work primarily with sweet romance, cozy mystery, historical fiction, young adult fiction, and various nonfiction topics rated up to PG-13, but my real specialty is seeing to the heart of the writer and helping them find their voice. I’m a published author with over 180 titles, so I understand not only the editing side of the process, but the creative side as well, and this gives me a unique perspective.
I’m looking for clients who want to level up their craft. Whether they’re a new author finding their wings or an established author hoping to refine their skills, I want to help them reach a little higher and delve a little deeper. My editing comments are direct, but kind. I will tell you the truth, but I will also help you implement the changes that will make your project shine. In addition, I verify all my corrections using Merriam-Webster and the Chicago Manual of Style.
Every bit of my editing process is handled by a real person. I do not use AI because I believe that words have power and nuance that a machine can never hope to emulate or understand. If you want to impact the human heart, you need to reach out with a human heart of your own, and that’s what I guarantee you will get when you decide to work with me. With that in mind, I prefer not to work with AI-generated manuscripts. I want to hear what you have to say, not what a computer thinks you have to say.
Here are my parameters:
-
I don't work with horror, erotica, or vulgar language.
-
I'm looking for projects that have gone through at least a couple of beta readers beforehand.
-
I work with Times New Roman, 12 pt. double spaced. I use Word and prefer to email manuscripts rather than using shared documents.
Reach out today and let me know how I can help you achieve your publishing dreams.
